The De Havilland Aircraft Heritage Centre. The de Havilland Super Sprite rocket engine was the first rocket engine to be type certificated as 5,000lb thrust and six were built as rocket boosters for the Comet 1 jet airliner, when taking off at high weights, temperatures and altitudes.
